Looking for a focused, detail-oriented Staff Accountant to handle the day to day accounting work and assist with office management. Competitive salary, great benefits, awesome people, casual dress, free snacks/drinks, work hard/play hard environment. Over the past several months, House Buyers’ growth and profitability have continued to increase exponentially – to the tune of 58% sales growth in Q1 of 2019 when compared Q1 of 2018. Our acquisitions have increased as well when comparing Q1 of 2019 and Q1 of 2018, House Buyers grew by 144%. The company has recently embarked on a robust, multi-level television advertising campaign that has generated significant results, in the form of increased acquisitions, brand recognition, and sales.

Summary:  The Staff Accountant is responsible for overseeing Accounting, Human Resources, and IT functions.  Responsible for performing basic accounting functions for the company, including maintenance and data entry of general ledger, cash management, account reconciliation, payroll processing, preparation of taxes (payroll, State and federal), and processing of accounts receivable and payable.  Additional responsibilities include managing the employee benefits program, assisting in the preparation of financial reports, office management, settlement processing, and other administrative duties.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all data entry of general ledger, cash management, account reconciliation, payroll processing, preparation of taxes (payroll, State and federal), and processing of accounts receivable and payable. 
  • Tax Returns:  Prepare financial data for both business and CEO’s personal accounts for our CPA firm to file tax returns.
  • Financial Analysis: prepare reports financial reports such as tracking inventory, cashflow and income forecasting, job costing, etc.
  • Settlements: Analyze Real Estate settlement statements and ensure that numbers are accurate. Work w/ Settlement Department to ensure all wires received promptly.
  • Manage utilities to make sure they’re turned on and off promptly as we buy and sell homes
  • Maintain Budgets:  hold department heads accountable for their budgets.
  • Manage Payroll and track bonus and profit sharing plans
  • Make sure House Buyers is properly insured in all areas.
  • Assist Human Resources: Prepare new hire offer letters and assist with terminations of employment.  Assist in managing company benefits and benefit enrollment.  Prepare desk, computer, and supplies for new employees.
  • Manage House Buyers’ rental properties.
  • Office Management: manage office lease and issues with office.  Ensure all office supplies and snacks are ordered, manage equipment, and general office management.
  • Assist with marketing properties and settlements as needed.
  • Anything else necessary to help the company meet its goals.  Being a dynamic, fast-growing company, expect a lot of changes and wearing multiple hats.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • 4-7 years of experience in corporate accounting and bookkeeping.
  • Residential Real Estate/Construction experience.
  • Experience with a higher level accounting software package such as Sage 100 or Timberline
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business.
  • Experience with financial reporting and working with budgets
  • Good computer skills.  Must be a quick learner of different software products.  Ability to work with complex Excel spreadsheets.
